Where to Learn Marketing Analytics for Complete Beginners

Access to data is becoming easier and more important for digital marketing. By using data driven marketing you can design campaigns specifically targeted for your audience. But there’s a lot to take in from all the tools available to monitor your online presence. So we’ve put together a guide of places you can find cheap, or sometimes even free training when you are a complete beginner in analytics.

Google analytics is the most popular digital tool for tracking and analyzing your website traffic. Google has their own Analytics Academy that aims to “help you learn about Google’s measurement tools so that you can grow your business through intelligent data collection and analysis.” You need to register to access the academy but it’s free to do so. At the registration stage you have a chance to state how much prior knowledge you bring with you so you can filter out the video training you do not need.

LinkedIn. You are required to pay a monthly fee to access the courses but you can get one month for free. Currently the cost is £24.98 a month,  which becomes cheaper if you do an annual learning plan.  The learning area can be found in the drop down menu, under the tab Work, on the main web page. Typing Marketing Analytics in the search bar presented me with 78 courses and 86 videos of which 75 are classified for beginners.

Coursera is an online learning platform that covers a wide range of subjects. Most of their courses are free as long as you don’t require a course certificate on completion or want to access graded assignments. A search for ‘marketing analytics’ revealed 512 search results.

Umdey is another learning site with many different topics. The courses are not free but many of them cost under £30 and for this you receive several hours of videos and accompanying lectures.
