NovaLoca at the OAS Development Awards
The Victoria Park Plaza in London was the venue for the OAS Development Awards last Friday. NovaLoca was again proud sponsor of one of the awards – this time round it was the Best Deal Outside Central London category and Miranda Munn was once again ready to announce the lucky winner.
The pre-lunch drinks reception was held in the Beatrice Suite and this offered a chance to scan the room for familiar faces and head to the table plan. Miranda and Chris Tembey were the NovaLoca representatives and Table 6 was to be the destination once the announcement came at 1pm that lunch would be served.
The Victoria Suite is a perfect setting for this awards ceremony and was well dressed and ready to house the crowd of around 225. The menu promised a decent meal and the wine was very quickly poured. Our friends on Table 6 consisted of representatives from CBRE, Porterfield, Hanover Green and Cartwright Pickard Architects. The food was excellent and the conversation flowed like the wine.
The focus soon turned to the stage and to Mike Phillps, acting editor of Property Week, who gave a welcome and then introduced Kate Silverton who was presenting the Awards. Kate spoke wonderfully and gave some inspiring anecdotes from her career to date before proceeding with the first award.
The awards began with a success for Table 6 as Cartwright Pickard picked up the award for the Best Development Outside Central London for their Wakefield One project.
Peter Cartwright took to the stage to pick up the impressive trophy and as he sat down Miranda took to the stage to announce that the winners of the Best Deal Outside Central London were Drum Property Group for Prime Four Business Park in Aberdeen, with the agents being Ryden LLP and FG Burnett.
The awards concluded around 3:30pm with a group photo of the winners together on stage. It was then time to head back to the Beatrice Suite for post-awards drinks, where the laughs and networking continued as the temptation to stay for “just one more drink” took hold. Eventually it was back to Bedfordshire for Miranda and Chris after another excellent afternoon with our friends of the OAS.
