Clifton Bridge BristolA bustling city with a rich, sea-faring history, Bristol’s cultural centre is an illustrious mix of the classical and the contemporary. With dedicated commutes to London and the proud accolade of “Best Place to Live in Britain” by Sunday Times thanks to its booming shopping, scenery and social scenes, it’s a veritable hub of cultural interest and business potential. The renowned Clifton Suspension Bridge stands as testament to Bristol’s growth; a result of necessity and born of a confident and unified workforce, it spans the River Avon and links the city to North Somerset’s Leigh Woods.

Following a £150 million investment in the Southwest from the Business Growth Fund, regional director Paul Oldham attributed the decision to the region being rich in “high-potential companies”. Owing to this prolific reputation, having a premises in Bristol makes for exemplary business and networking possibilities, as well as the boon of working in a business hub with favourable comparisons to London.

Recent changes to Bristol aren’t only numerous, but far-reaching. Here are some of the most lucrative from the last three months:

Redcliffe Regeneration
The most recent, and arguably most exciting development for Bristol, is a regeneration of the Redcliffe Quarter. Having lay derelict for 20 years, this 600,000 square foot of land will not only provide housing for residents thanks to a planned 22-storey resident’s tower, but also a projected 400-500 new jobs and a £7million boost to the local economy upon completion. The 15,000 square feet of offices, meanwhile, should provide more than enough space for new workers.

Temple Gate Remodelling
The Temple Circus Roundabout is to be remodelled as part of a £11million programme in the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone. The extra space will not only be a safer, more open area for commuters, cyclist and pedestrians but a space for new buildings and a public square – creating a perfect, day-and-night centre for social congregation and new, fertile business possibilities.
