Video continues to trend on Social Media in 2019. It grabs attention, and is an easy way for people to consume online content on the go. It is estimated that the average person watches 30 minutes a day and that by 2021 78% of mobile traffic will be video.
With Apple announcing a new video service here’s a timely reminder of two sites where video is a rising star
Pinterest has introduced video uploads for business accounts. Don’t worry if you are not set up as a business it’s easy to switch over. Then you can upload your vertical or square ratio MP4 or MOV video (that’s the format used by most phone recordings) and add it to one of your boards. The minimum video length is 4 seconds to a maximum 30 minutes. Pinterest recommends a resolution of 240 ppi and a frame rate of 25fps

Instagram is predicted by some industry experts as the platform to watch in 2019
IGTV was launched in 2018 as a new app on both iOS and android. Again it allows vertical videos to be uploaded and these become available to watch within the main Instagram app via a button at the top of the app. Video previews will show in user’s feeds.
