IMPAKT housing and support has signed a long lease on Stamford House at Bromham Road in Bedford in a deal brokered by leading commercial property consultancy Kirkby Diamond. The charity is moving after 15 years at Newspaper House, Bromham Road, which it has outgrown.

Andrew Clarke, agency associate at Kirkby Diamond in Bedford, acted on behalf of the landlord Stamford House Securities.

He said: “It is wonderful to have an amazing organisation such as IMPAKT housing and support commit to a long lease at Stamford House. The work it does for the community in Bedford, Luton, Cambridgeshire and North Hertfordshire is outstanding and we are very pleased that we were able to help it find a new office which will serve it well for many years to come.”

Paul Hunt CEO of IMPAKT Housing, said: “We were in our previous offices for 15 years and to find Stamford House was a blessing because we now have our own front door/offices that enables the organisation to continue with our mission, to not only end the revolving cycle of homelessness, but it also enables us to expand all our services, and be confident we have the capacity within Stamford House to develop our work.”

With over 200+ bed spaces of supported housing, IMPAKT housing and support’s mission is to end the revolving door of homelessness. This starts with recognising the trauma caused by homelessness, providing a safe and aspirational place for people to live, and the skills and support for long term independent living.

The success of its housing allows it to make an even bigger impact in the community. Three domestic abuse support and resettlement teams, a free to use community larder, affordable used furniture and a boutique shop benefit both the environment and its non-profitable services. It has many accommodation projects – Weaver House, Cornerstone House The Foyer, Linden House and No.10 all in Bedford along with Midland House in Luton and 15 one bed flats also in Luton.

The organisation also has two houses in Cambridgeshire and one house in Central Beds for women and children fleeing domestic abuse.
