Berkshire commercial property locations
Often referred to as the Royal County of Berkshire, due to the presence of Windsor Castle, and known as one of the Home Counties, Berkshire is also one of the oldest counties in England. Historically the town of Abingdon was the county’s capital, with a high number of commercial properties in its city centre. However, by 1974 the much larger town of Reading had taken over this role, offering a greater variety of shops for lease, industrial property for rent and retail units to buy.
Notable towns in the region include Slough with its large industrial business parks offering plenty of units to let, industrial property for rent and shops to buy. Bracknell and Sandhurst, both in the Bracknell Forest area, also provide a variety of commercial business property to buy or rent. Newbury and Thatcham are part of West Berkshire and both have commercial property for rent in their city centres as well as units to let, industrial property for rent and shops to buy. The M3 and M4 motorways run through the county, linking it to the M25 and London to the east, and to counties in the south and west, providing commercial business property and other commercial property for rent with excellent transport connections to all regions in the south of the UK.
