FORMER CHURCH IN CENTRAL BATH, Holy Trinity Church, Chapel Row, Bath, BA1 1HN
7,188 Sq Ft / Other / Non residential Institution
Withdrawn - Last updated: 22 January 2019
Holy Trinity Church is a large Grade II listed nineteenth church designed and constructed in the French Gothic Style by Wilson, Willcox & Wilson between 1873-1874 on the site of the former St. Mary’s Chapel.
Later additions and modifications to the building include the construction of the northern aisle and a vestry to the south east in circa 1880. The northern aisle was subsequently converted to provide hall, office, meeting rooms and toilets in 1954.
The southern nave remains open, measuring approximately 97ft (29.6m) by 41ft (12.4m) (maximum dimensions) and contains a semi-circular apse. It has an internal eaves height of approximately 34 ft (10.4m). Above is an extensive roof space. The vestry adjoining the nave is accessed through a link corridor and could be self-contained.
The vestry has been constructed in a similar style to the Church and provides approximately 822 sq ft / 76.4 sq m (scaled from plan) of accommodation, arranged over a single storey.
