Kilmarnock is well connected to East Ayrshire by public transport with regular bus services from Kilmarnock including a regular express bus service from Kilmarnock to Glasgow city centre. In addition, Kilmarnock has a railway station which provides a half hourly rail service to Glasgow Centre Station and a less frequent service to Carlisle.
