Gillingham is located approximately 3 miles east of Rochester and 11 miles north of Maidstone, to the south of the River Medway and forms a conurbation with neighbouring towns Chatham, Rochester, Strood and Rainham.
The town has a large street market in the High Street on Saturdays and Mondays.
